I enjoyed Stephanie Meyer's Host. It was an excellent story. I think better than the vampire series. Reading other comments on it. I am surprised at how many people are comparing it to the vampire books and only focusing on the love story. The story line itself was great. It is science fiction, but I like scifi so I enjoyed it. Has anyone else read it? What are your comments?
(Not really spoilers, but)
My questions is how would it feel to have someone take over your body? Would you stick around and fight and yell? Or would you fade away? I have always thought my mind was one of the greatest blessings that I had. It is wonderful to learn, to remember, to think. But I have always taken being able to move my body and do what I wanted with it.

I just finished this book and of course loved it. I thought of it more from a pshycological point of view...mostly because I think that Stephanie Meyers...as awesome of an author that she is, HAS to have some sort of warped imagination or mental illness to come up with the things she writes...and I am not saying that to be mean...I really just think she has issues. I thought of Melanie and Wanda as being more of a medaphor for a normal person who has to struggle to overcome fears and anxieties...hopes...dissapointments o whatever. I am sure I make no sense....but for instance...I have a terrible fear of heights. I feel like I have no control over this fear...but then another part of me knows that there is no reason to be afraid...so when I am in a situation where the fears starts to rise...I have this internal dialog with myself...much like Mel and Wanda were, I am talking myself out of being afraid. ANYHOW!!! There are lots of ways to look at different things that happened in The Host. That's what makes it such a good book!
