December Update

Where did December go?

Santa visits, cookies, snow, presents, parties, lights and trees.  Jaydee loved all the lights, books and her play nativity set, she saw the play nativity set at her aunt’s house and hurryingly began to pick up the pieces because “I forgot I left these here.” I had to explain that these were not her set. She also has picked up two new phrases: “Just Kidding” and “Actually” (which she says in 5 or 6 syllables it is a very long and important word). The just kidding is shortened to “You was kidding me, huh Mom.”  A few other Jaydee Christmas Phrases:

  • Christmas Lights are Amazing! (And it is Aaahhh –mmmaaazzing”)
  • Look at the Santa lights…
  • I want socks from Santa.
  • She was naming everything with snow on it (cars, buildings, houses, trees). Then she said, “The naked trees have snow on them.”
  • Eggnog is Christmas Milk

We did have a fun month.  We celebrated 8 years and went out partying all night at HonDah casino, with all the drinks you want, a steak dinner and dancing.  We skipped the drinking and gambling but had fun anyway.  It was Vandee’s work party the night before our anniversary.  Hyrum got to play Baby Jesus in Joey & Paula Flakes outdoor Nativity.  He forgot that Baby Jesus is supposed to “no crying he makes…” and screamed the whole time.  I think he was hot because I had him so bundled up.  Christmas was quiet.  Jaydee was upset because Santa didn’t stay at our house for her to see him.  She was also confused because she got a trike and did not ask for it.  She did ask for a little car which she promptly confiscated Kent’s until she opened her own set of cars.  Hyrum got some baby spoons which he really likes to eat out of.  He is so big and has been begging for food for the last month so we started him on food.  He loves it.  And yes both kids got socks!  Jaydee’s other favorite present was her very own Fishing Game and a stuffed pig.  The pig sings the song “This little piggy…” and wiggles his feet.  We went to Flagstaff to visit Grandparents and play in the snow.

Oh and WE GOT RELEASED FROM ACTIVITY DIRECTORS!!!!  Yeah!  (I’m not excited or anything.)  Bishop told us he was thinking about it but he would have to see.  I am thrilled.  Sam is in scouts and I am on the Relief Society Board.  I think my calling is going to be activities for the RS but that has to be less stress than parties for the whole ward and now I don’t have to do a float for the Pioneer Day Parade!  (I hate doing floats and yes I remember that Sam & I met and started dating because we were working on a float together but I wasn’t in charge of that one…)
