President Obama

My sister in law, Vicki graduated from ASU last week. Sam & I had the awesome opportunity to go down and support her and listen to President Obama speak. We were sitting in the nosebleed seats, but at least we were in the shade. We watched Air Force One fly over and then the motorcade come in. The President's speech was awesome. I don't care if you agree with him or not, I would highly recommend going to one of his speeches if you ever get the chance. Some of my favorite lines were when he spoke about the controversy of receiving an honorary degree, then he turned that into the subject of his speech. It doesn't matter what our title is, how much money we make, what car we drive; our character is more important. He challenged the graduates to make this world a better place and to serve others around them. It is an awesome speech. It was neat to see the swat teams and snipers on the roof, they were in black and full gear out in the sun in the 100+ degree heat.
On the way out, we had to walk around to try to get around the barricades for the motorcade, we were crossing under the police tape when the police offers chased us back, so we were right on the corner when the motorcade and the Presidential limo went by. The guards were with him and the police escort. That was cool.

It was also neat to see Vicki graduate! And we are proud of her.

Well...I don't know if I can bring myslef to listen to his speech yet. I just don't like what he's been doing so far....but I like what you said he said. I think he's a good guy...just not a good President. I guess that's yet to be seen though huh?
