May

May has passed in a blur...we definitely had our fill of graduations!
Jaydee met with the ENT and he agreed that we could take her tubes
out. So I had two choices of dates May 14th or the 21st. The 13th we
were going to be in Mesa for Vicki's graduation and the 21st was my
brother's graduation from High School. We opted for the 21st so Sam
got to stay home with kids instead of sit through a graduation.
Jaydee has not had problems with her tubes the last year so they are
out and we will know in a month if they healed properly. We are
praying they do because we do not want to deal with another surgery to
get her ear drum repaired.

Sam & I were able to take off work and go to Vicki's graduation from
ASU. It was fun to hang out with everyone, we definitely had nose
bleed seats but it was fun to be there to support Vicki and to see
President Obama speak. When we left we ran into the road block for
the motorcade and thought we would be sneaky and walk around, but we
walked all the way around aaannnnnd (Jaydee was helping me type)
anyway we got under the police tape and they told us to go back so Sam
& I had front row seats as the motorcade went by. It was a fun night
and a once in a lifetime experience. Plus it was a nice trip without
kiddos. It is amazing how little luggage we need for only the two of
us.

Jaydee's surgery went well. She had a rough day the first day, but
has bounced back well. Vandee's youngest brother Tyler graduated from
high school that night. So Sam stayed home with the kiddos.

Van's wife Marcia and son Joseph were able to get their visas in order
and come up from Chile. It was wonderful to meet them and have Van
home on leave for a few days before he is off. We will miss him, but
we are proud of his service.

Sam is very excited for summer and spent the last week of May on
projects on our house. By the time summer is over, we will have our
addition done, new windows, a new paint job, a new patio and a new
counter top. We hate being in the middle of construction, but we are
excited to have all the projects completed.

Glad to hear Van got a few days leave to spend with his family before shipping out. Praying for his safe return.
