I want to be a cowboy

Sam wanted a new hat & boots, so he took Jaydee to the store. I had a silent bet that he would buy her something. Sure enough Sam just called he made it out of the first store, but Jaydee looks adorable in a cowboy hat and there was this little red belt with a buckle. Sam did buy Jaydee the Cowboy hat & belt. I got a picture yesterday of her all dressed up and then this morning she saw Sam trying his hat on and wanted to be a cowboy so she is wearing her boots, hat & belt with her jammies. :)

I'll post some later of the 4th of July celebrations. :)

Thanks for your comments on Kitchen Sink. I wondered if I wasn't being unfair. The Bishop would never recognize this because sadly,he is part of the problem. He has offended people by ignoring. He always gravitates to the "visiting authority" in the room and the only time he talks to most is when they hand in their tithing slip. Other than that, he sticks to his group. Those at the Ward Counsel are his best buddies and outside of that, he doesn't really get to know anyone else. It needed to be said.
I support him as a bishop, but I don't have to agree with his ways.
ANYWAY...
We are heading up to Greer this Saturday for a family reunion and I don't remember if we stop in Snowflake or not. If we do, we'll stop in and say hi. Email me your phone number and I'll call you.

Jaydee wanted to go play outside, she came & sat by Sam as he put on his shoes, he said Okay lets go. She told him "You go play, I'll watch."

Mom, Deedra called me Jaydee Fern, I'm not a Fern, I'm Jaydee Flake.

Jaydee sat on my lap and touched my belly, she looked up at me and said "My baby brother is getting big!"

I want to be a cowboy. Jaydee likes her boots, hat and "buckle" and wants everything to be cowboy, when she wouldn't eat breakfast (a real breakfast of hashbrowns, eggs & bacon) she didn't eat it until Sam told her it was cowboy food. I think it is funny because she is very pro girl lately and doesn't like boys, but she likes cowboy not cowgirl...

Jaydee was taking a test, the lady asked her where groceries go? In the House. Where does cold food go? In the fridge. Where does really cold stuff like ice cream go? Jaydee paused and the lady prompted her again, where do I put my ice cream? In your tummy! Definitely a Flake answer.

Jaydee came in and told Sam "I'm going to Blow You Away." Sam turned to me and wanted to know what my brothers had been teaching her. Jaydee then finished "I'm going to huff and puff and blow you away." Sam had been reading her 3 little pigs.

We were coloring pictures on mother's day cards for Grandmas. Jaydee sang Itsy Bitsy Spider while coloring so I helped her draw a spider, rain & sun on the card and wrote a little note so Grandma would know why there was a spider. She loves that song and sings and does the actions. I need to do a video of it!

After watching Deedra's twins, Jaydee pointed to my belly and said "2 babies" then giggled and said "No, only 1!" She counts with her fingers for each of these. I have been quite vocal about telling her only 1, so I am glad she gets it.

Jaydee put her own band-aid on her knees then we put on pjs and she pulled up the pant leg to look at the band-aid, it had stuck to the pjs. She laughed and said "Silly Jaydee! I put it on upside down!"

Jaydee told me last night on the way home from eating fish (that my dad caught in Mexico) that Papa’s food was too hot and she couldn’t eat any of it. (She had cleaned her plate) but I will give her the fish and potatoes did have a lot of pepper ( I had tried to get most of the pepper off).

3-30-08
Last night while we were packing Jaydee disappeared and then it got really quiet. Fearing the worst I ran in to check on her, she was up on the counter with a sucker in her hand. “Look Mommy, Candy! I want a sucker!” I got her down and explained that it was too late for a sucker, it was bed time, but we could pack it and she could have it tomorrow. We put it in her little back pack, then went back and brushed teeth and sent her to bed, she went without any complaining or crying. I poked my head in there to find her on her bed laying down, I turned off the light and gave her the flashlight (new idea to try to keep her in bed.) 20 minutes later found me with the lights out and in bed. Then I heard a tiptoeing little girl come into my room, not a word she said, but I heard something get thrown in the trash and out she went, by the hall light I saw a sucker in her mouth! I had to giggle for a few minutes before I could go and get the sucker and explain that she still couldn’t have it while Sam brushed her teeth again. I couldn’t believe that she came in to throw away the wrapper. So she has learned an important lesson: don’t throw away evidence in front of mom.
